A former activist in Troy, Rep. Sharon MacDonell is now a grassroots Democratic leader representing Michigan's 56th District.
In her first term in Lansing, Sharon and her House Democratic colleagues took action to protect women's reproductive freedoms, repeal the retirement tax for seniors, enact common-sense gun safety protections, and make record investments in our public schools.
Seven of Rep MacDonell's own bills were passed into law and are now protecting vulnerable adults from online exploitation, helping companies build EV charging infrastructure, keeping corporations from obstructing environmental regulations, and more.
Rep MacDonell was re-elected to the House in 2024. In her second term, Sharon will continue serving the needs and ideals of her constituents in Troy, Clawson, Royal Oak, Birmingham, and Bloomfield Township, and for a brighter future for all of Michigan. It is her honor to serve you!
